Part 1: First arrived in Japan

Before I came to Japan, I really didn't have many knowledge about the life in here. All my luggage brought here was: 4 years of learning Japanese with JLPT N2; a lot of time spending on reading manga, watching anime and listening to Japanese's music and ofcourse a big suitcase stuffed with clothes and dream of being in the most polite country in the world.
I was having a long flight from NoiBai Airport to Narita Airport. It was on a raining day on April.
After a long tired flight, the first shock I got was trying to read the railway map. There was so many hard kanji to read and it was not easy to use the ticket booth. After asking the staff, I got a ticket for Narita Express to Shinjuku for more than 3.000 yen. Alternately you can use the bus or taxi to get to Tokyo, but after a long flight I think saving some buck isn't worth it. (Also you can check videos from youtuber "Abroad in Japan" for many information about living and traveling in Japan).
And so my adventure in Japan had begun ~

   >Tips:
   1. Don't be an idiot like me that think just need to call a taxi and all will be done. Traveling in Japan by train is very convient (you can access from JReast website or download their app for free). Bus is also a good option if you want to save some budget.
   2. You should purchase a Suica/Pasmo card so don't have to buy ticket everytime (not working for express or shinkansen). It's 500 yen, then you can deposit money to it and just need to touch the IC reader everytime you transfer between station.
   3. Japan is huge so don't bother to look in a paper map, use Google Map! You can order a short-term sim or pocket wifi and receive in the airport. And there is also free wifi at the train stations.

Introduction about my blog

Hi, I'm Ana and I'm going to live in Japan for 1 year as a language student. By now, I've been in Tokyo for a month.
How was it? It was great, very different from my home country in Vietnam. There is so many thing in here make you ask yourself: "I'm not sure this is Japan I saw in movie" or "Well, this can only happened in Japan". And then on the next day, you wake up, walk around the street "How come a country can be both amazing and weird at the same time?".
So, I decided to make this blog to share my experience in my 1 year in Japan, all "The good, the bad and the odd" in here. It will be much about my daily studying life in Japan, lots of park and flower, sometimes with manga and anime or food.
For anyone who enjoy the night life in Japan with bar, club, late night drink or fashion, sorry I think this blog may not met your satisfaction. And for everyone who joins me on this journey, nice to meet you and have a nice day~
